Water City Roller Hockey was opened in 1995 by the parents of two young hockey players and their later to be twice National Roller Hockey Champion little sister. Upon moving to the Peninsula and seeing a need for organized hockey, they jumped in and converted the Fort Ord gym into a rink by installing professional-style dasher-boards and flooring. Since 1995, Water City has hosted National Tournaments, created State and National champions and brought skating and hockey to hundreds and hundreds of children and adults alike.
Water City continues to thrive today because of the generosity of volunteers, supportive coaches, dedicated parents and outstanding staff. Continuing to address and support the recreational needs of our community, Water City is now offering seasonal activities that include youth soccer, lacrosse, roller derby, public skating and, of course, roller hockey for youth and adults.
